…going inside the Red Pyramid at Dahshur – a sight and feeling I’ll never forget.  I went to Egypt to see the pyramids, but I left loving the Egyptian people.  I met a little Egyptian girl in a market at the Khan Khalili.  She was selling facial tissues (I’m sure to help her family).  As I passed by this little girl, about six years of age holding her brother of maybe two, I gave her a five pound note (roughly $1.50).  This sweet little girl fought her way through the crowd of the market to catch up with me.  With one arm outstretched and the other holding her baby brother, she gave me a big kiss.  My heart must have grown three sizes that night.  What ever happened to those ancient Egyptians: those passionate, intelligent, artful engineers who loved life so much they wanted to take it with them?  I have good news.  They are alive and well in Egypt today.            – Linda Carr
